Advanced Vocational Training/Job Readiness
This program is ideal for the consumer who may need accelerated support transitioning into Supported Employment, but is highly motivated. It bridges the gap between what the consumer needs to be successful in employment and what Supported Employment can offer. Services include:
- Paid work in small community-based work crews, i.e. Banana Republic, Round Table, Moraga Parks
- Pre-vocational personal and social training for work preparation
- Individualized 1:1 instruction as needed to remediate barriers to employment
- Job exploration and vocational exposure in the community
- Appropriate socials skills for community and work sites
Vocation Training and Social Adjustment
For the consumer who has a long-term Supported Employment goal, this program lays the groundwork for entrance into the workforce. Services include:
- Paid work in small group settings
- Small group instruction
- Development of work skills and work capacity
- Communication and interpersonal skill development
- Appropriate behavior in and out of the workplace
- Field trips and Mobility instruction
- Development and maintenance of functional skills required for self-advocacy, community integration & employment
- Choice-making and self-empowerment through a variety of activity clubs, such as: sports, cooking, nutrition, creative drama, current events, newsletter, creative arts, etc.
Mobility Training Service
For the consumer who is able to learn to travel independently with support and training. Services available at all sites include:
- Mobility skills assessments
- Route evaluation and planning
- Individualized 1:1 training
- Bus and BART training
- Assistance with ADA certification and discount passes
- Safety evaluations and training
